Watch out! South Africa's Soccer Grannies are coming to America!!! Cool...

Long before Reinata Walaza did the chicken waddle windup and kicked the ball that scored her South African team’s first goal at a soccer tournament here yesterday, she and her teammates, ages 47 to 84, had to overcome maladies such as arthritis and cancer, make multiple hourslong trips from their rural villages to obtain passports in Johannesburg, and rely on the kindness of strangers after their government reneged on money promised for the trip.

For the Soccer Grannies, as the team from South Africa has come to be known, it was a long journey from their homes in Limpopo, the northernmost province of South Africa, to this small town in central Massachusetts. More...

Don't miss:

  1. The martial arts grannies of Kenya's Korogocho slum!!!
  2. Cheeky 10-year-old puts grandmother on sale on eBay!!!
  3. Petronas Deepavali commercial from Malaysia!
  4. Don't mess around with this grandma!!!
