Insensitive police return man's suicide rope to widow...

A police force has apologised to a widow after they returned to her the rope her husband used to hang himself.

Angie Gerrelli found the blood-stained yellow tow rope in a sack of items returned after her estranged 50-year-old partner John Gilmore killed himself in a park in Barry, South Wales.

Ms Gerrelli, 52, from Amersham, Buckinghamshire, has hit out at the insensitivity shown by South Wales Police in the incident.

Officers from the force have now been spoken to by superiors about their conduct in the matter. More...
